More about the Adventure
Building confidence with nature, connection and fun.
Much of modern childhood is spent in front of a screen, and we strive to change that. Our backpacking program is built to connect your child with the plants, animals, lands and water that surround them so that they can build a positive connection with the outdoors, themselves, and each other. In our backpacking program, we practice healthy risk taking and collaborative problem solving, which helps children form strong social bonds. Together we build community and create an unforgettable experience in the wilderness.
Confidence comes through turning something we fear into something we enjoy. We’ve built our program around showing children of all ages how to be safe, enjoy and understand nature, so it becomes something they love and want to protect We structure enjoyable activities and challenges, so that they can learn to have fun building camp, cooking outdoors, swimming, learning songs and exploring the surrounding mountains.
Stories, music, cooking and plant knowledge.
Along with nature connection, we bring folk stories and music to the children in the program. From old European stories to Native American legends, we hope to awaken your child’s imagination and creativity.
During the week’s backpacking adventures, we’ll be showing each child new skills that are needed in nature and in life. They’ll learn about rope tying, cooking, building camp, using tools, swimming, and exploring.
